A community built on independence, inclusion, and cooperation.
Abby Road is a private member-governed and operated housing co-operative in Edmonton for people of all abilities — with on-site support services available for members who need them.
ABOUT ABBY ROAD
A non-profit, member-governed community located in Edmonton’s Garneau neighbourhood.
Since 1989, Abby Road has provided affordable, accessible homes where members with and members without physical disabilities live side by side, supporting one another and building the future together.
Within the co-op, our Support Services Program offers 24-hour, self-directed care for members with physical disabilities who qualify — allowing them to live independently, safely, and confidently in their own homes.
A PLACE TO BELONG
At Abby Road, everyone contributes to the life of the community.
Our members come from all walks of life — singles, couples, families, students, and retirees — united by shared values of inclusion, respect, and volunteerism.

ACCESSIBILITY & EASE
Designed for everyone
Our community was designed with accessibility in mind — wide hallways, roll-in showers, and barrier-free common spaces. We have 23 adapted units with accessibility features and 26 standard units for members who do not require adaptations. All homes are part of the same inclusive community.
AFFORDABILITY & SUBSIDIES
Keeping homes affordable
At Abby Road, we believe everyone should have access to safe, comfortable housing. That’s why we offer a mix of below market-rate and subsidized homes, helping make sure cost isn’t a barrier to being part of our community.
LOCATION & LIFESTYLE
In the heart of Garneau
Our location on Whyte Avenue offers the best of Edmonton — cafés, shops, parks, and the river valley just steps away. Perfect for those who love an active, urban lifestyle and easy access to transit, schools, and the University of Alberta.
